Press release | Lavoce Italiana, the premium transducer company with over 35 years heritage in designing and manufacturing high-performance HF and LF loudspeaker components, announces the launch of three new large-format 1.4” compression drivers, reinforcing its commitment to advanced HF solutions for professional sound reinforcement and OEM system design.

DN14.250T, DF14.250T and DF14.300LT have been developed by Lavoce’s Italian R&D team and are based on a next-generation HF design platform, combining FEM-optimized motor, phase plug, and diaphragm geometries with proven manufacturing know-how. All models are engineered using Lavoce’s proprietary advanced modelling techniques to deliver high output, extended bandwidth, and low distortion, while ensuring production consistency and reliable real-world performance.

DN14.250T and DF14.250T add another flavour of 1.4” exit compression driver to Lavoce’s enviable range of large format devices, both featuring a 2.5” edge-wound copper-clad voice coil and titanium diaphragm and surround. They offer a 160W program power rating, 108 dB sensitivity across a 1000 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range and a 1200Hz recommended crossover point.

LAVOCE DF14.250T

DF14.250T employs a ferrite magnet structure, while the DN14.250T uses a neodymium motor, offering system designers flexibility in balancing performance, weight, and cost according to application requirements.

LAVOCE DF14.300LT

DF14.300LT is a 1.4” exit ferrite compression driver developed directly from Lavoce’s flagship DF14.300T driver, designed according to an optimization strategy that preserves the electro-acoustic performances, while rationalizing selected construction elements to deliver excellent real-world behaviour with a highly competitive cost structure.

Featuring a 3” edge-wound copper-clad aluminium voice coil, the DF14.300LT delivers 220 W program power handling and a 107 dB sensitivity over a wide 600 Hz – 18 kHz frequency range, making it ideally suited for high-output systems requiring reliable operation in demanding and cost-conscious applications.

All three models use FEM-optimized motor, phase plug, and diaphragm geometries ensuring controlled distortion and performance. These models are further enhanced by the incorporation of Lavoce’s patented Integral Input Surface - IIS phase plug topology, which utilizes a smooth, integrated input surface to enhance acoustic consistency, simplify manufacturing, and ensure repeatable performance both in production and in the field.

With these new compression drivers, Lavoce further strengthens its large-format HF offering, providing OEM partners and sound system designers with high-performance, next-generation solutions optimized for modern professional loudspeaker applications.

Pierpaolo De Minicis, Pro Audio Division Manager at Lavoce, comments: “Our new 1.4” exit compression drivers reflect the latest evolution of our HF design philosophy. By combining advanced modelling, FEM optimization, and proven technologies such as our patented IIS phase plug, we can deliver reliable, high-output solutions that simplify system design while meeting the increasing performance expectations of today’s professional audio market.”
