Forum migration mid-December
Our current forum software is long past its used-by date. Over the last 9 months we've been busy working with our development team on a new software home for our community, and to ensure the migration to it goes as smoothly as possible.

The new platform is powered by the popular XenForo forum software. It's made by the same developers as the current software, so while it will look different it will feel familiar.

New, modern software means you'll get to enjoy a whole bunch of modern niceties often taken for granted today, such as post auto-saving, drag and drop images, and a WYSIWYG editor. People on mobile devices will be happy to know the new site uses responsive design and looks and works great on both phones and tablets.

We've scheduled the migration for the mid-December. The site will be down for 24-48 hours during the migration process. This might be a great time to make progress on one of your rainy day projects.

Discuss the migration on diyAudio here.

What's coming in 2022
Our move to a fresh new forum platform is not an end, but a new beginning.

Our mission at diyAudio has always been to help do-it-yourself audio fanatics around the world find, discuss, and build the audio projects of their dreams.

Once we're on this new platform, the sky is the limit for what is possible. There's a bunch of features we have wanted for a long time that have been put on ice while we wait for new foundations on which to build.

We know that right now it can be difficult and time consuming to find what you're looking for in the forum. Great projects can remain undiscovered, and important information is often hidden deep inside long threads. In the years ahead we will be steadily improving what we have, building new features, and introducing new concepts to help you find what you're looking for.

Great discussions are easily missed by infrequent visitors. We'll be working on how to keep you in touch with topics you're interested in, and not bother you with ones you're not.

Our diyAudio world is a one of thinking outside the box and fun, odd-ball projects. Projects by fanatics, for fanatics. We'll be working on ways for members both new and established to give their niche ideas the exposure they deserve. This will ensure our todo lists are always full of fun and interesting audio projects.

As the saying goes, "show me a man with a project, and I will show you a happy man".
